MSC WORLD PROJECT APPEALS 2026

CONNECTING HEARTS ACROSS THE WORLD

Every year, the outreach programmes featured in our MSC World Projects Appeal span a multitude of different places and people and needs, as we do our best to respond to the changing times on our mission projects around the world. This year, our featured projects include Indonesia, Honduras, Ecuador, Cameroon, and OLSH outreach in South Africa and South America, incorporating education, medical aid, pastoral care, and feeding the hungry, as our Sacred Heart family work to answer the many appeals for help from mission stations worldwide.

Recent years have seen our world in a constant state of change, with the heartbreaking effects of poverty and war shattering lives and livelihoods in communities and societies all around the world. The people we help need us now more than ever before.

As we begin a new year, we continue to walk together on an uphill journey to bring hope to the hopeless, and to empower those who may feel frightened and alone.

SHARING 60 YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP IN 2026

With each year that passes, we’re trying to do more with less, at a time when finances are tight for everyone and the people that need us, need us more than ever. With the current issues troubling our world, we are facing an uphill battle. Nonetheless, it is thanks to you, our great mission friends, that we can continue to do our best to help those in need. Because of you, many, many communities and families have hope where before there was none. Together, we can continue to make a difference.

Below, you will find some of the projects that currently need our immediate attention, and we would be very grateful if you would consider lending your support. You can choose to donate to a specific programme that may be close to your heart, or you can leave it to us to send your donation to the projects that need it most.

It costs approximately €950 to support one trainee for a month in Brazil , including their academic studies, healthcare, food, transport, additional classes, and trips for pastoral work and vocational studies.

This year, the MSC community in Yaoundé are asking for our help in raising a total of €10,500.
As well as providing laptops for new students, this will help to purchase essential equipment for their agricultural programme, such as protective work clothing, farming tools, cutting implements, grain and seed, cleaning materials, and fuel.



The school community in Indonesia are looking to raise a total of €32,000, with half going to the tuition and accommodation of 106 students for one year, and the other half going towards the construction of a comfortable and safe kitchen and dining area for the young people at the school, who currently cook in an unsustainable temporary kitchen structure, and eat meals in their study room.



Fr Marcelo in Equador is working to raise just over €12,000 to complete repairs to the house, with the help of local mingas, or community groups that work together to provide employment opportunities to local indigenous people.



The team La Esperanza 2 in Hondoras are working to raise €14,000 to cover food supplies for residents, and the work of the centre’s project corodinators, for two years.



OLSH Sisters in the Amazon region of Brazil are working to raise €20,000 to buy a vehicle to support their daily ministry across vast stretches of harsh terrain. A new jeep would help the Sisters greatly as they minister to isolated rural communities deep in the Amazon, providing pastoral care and essential aid to local populations including disabled children, the sick and elderly, and disadvantaged indigenous families.

In Nzhelele, South Africa, OLSH Sisters need €15,000 to repair and refurbish a dedicated mission garden in the convent grounds. The mission here cares for more than 130 vulnerable children, and the garden helps to supplement a nutritious diet for them, while also teaching valuable life skills and providing essential employment for local people.

Director of the MSC Missions Office

Thank you!

My years as an MSC have shown me that together, we can do great things and bring about real change. With your help, our Sacred Heart family can continue to educate and empower for a more hopeful future – and that future begins now. As we celebrate 60 years of the MSC Missions Office in Cork, the new year holds a real sense of hope, and the promise of better things to come in 2026 and beyond.
May God bless you for your kindness, now and always.

Fr John.
